Some of us earnestly expect things from family, friends and loved ones and when there is a failure on the part of one of these to meet those expectations there is a sadness that develops in the heart. You and I know that drill all to well since we have all experienced this from both sides of the fence.
Most of these expectations that fail to reach maturity are not on purpose, most simply fail because of absentmindedness and seldom on selfishness on the part of one or the other. And yet if we are honest, there is little excuse since most excuse will not find a satisfying resting place in either heart.
After praying for the Ephesians in Ephesians 3 the apostle exhorts the church in the following words in Ephesians 4:1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called , 2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; 3 Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
Forgetting that there is unity in the Oneness of God is critical in our walk, therefore we should pray daily that our brothers and sisters, including ourselves are walking in unity, with God and each other; He has provided that Oneness through His Spirit in that each of us can abide, thus there is no excuse when we fail and all too well our heart knows this pain.
